What is a TFT display and what are its advantages?

1. What is a tft screen
TFT (Thin Film Transistor) is a thin film field effect transistor that can "actively" control individual pixels on the screen, which can greatly improve reaction time. Generally, TFTs have a relatively fast response time of about 80 milliseconds, and have a large viewing angle, which can generally reach about 130 degrees. They are mainly used in high-end products. Therefore, screen information can be displayed at high speed, high brightness, and high contrast. TFT belongs to an active matrix liquid crystal display, which is technically driven by using an "active matrix" method. The method is to use a transistor electrode made of thin film technology to "actively pull" to control the opening and closing of any display point by using a scanning method. When the light source is irradiated, it first passes through the lower polarizing plate and transmits light upward, using liquid crystal molecules to conduct light, and achieve the display purpose by shielding and transmitting light.
Many of the new generation of color screen phones support 65536 color displays, and some even support 160000 color displays. At this time, the high contrast and rich color advantages of TFT are very important. The main components of TFT type liquid crystal displays include: fluorescent tubes, light guide plates, polarizing plates, filter plates, glass substrates, alignment films, liquid crystal materials, thin mode transistors, and so on.
2. What are the advantages of tft screens
TFT also improves the phenomenon of STN flickering (water ripples) and blurring, effectively improving the ability to play dynamic images. Compared to STN, TFT has excellent color saturation, restoration ability, and higher contrast, but its disadvantages are relatively power consumption and high cost.
TFT liquid crystal is equipped with a semiconductor switch for each pixel, and each pixel can be directly controlled through a dot pulse. Therefore, each node is relatively independent and can be continuously controlled, not only improving the reaction speed of the display screen, but also accurately controlling the display color scale, so the color of TFT liquid crystal is more realistic. TFT liquid crystal displays are characterized by good brightness, high contrast, strong layering, and bright colors, but there are also shortcomings such as relatively high power consumption and cost. TFT liquid crystal technology has accelerated the development of mobile phone color screens. Many of the new generation of color screen phones support 65536 color displays, and some even support 160000 color displays. At this time, the high contrast and rich color advantages of TFT are very important.
